Avatar

Last night I saw my second movie this month (holy crap I'm seeing a bunch of movies lately!):  Avatar.  Oh my goodness, people, if you have not seen this movie yet, get thyself to a theater right now and watch it!  Preferably in 3D, but if you live in a lame-ass town like moi which has not gotten with the 21st century movie technology, then it will be spectacular in 2D as well.

No seriously, I freaking loved this movie.  I would recommend it to anybody.  Even if you're not a fan of science fiction, because really, although it's centered around another planet and a different race and they're trying to get some awesome made-up mineral, it's not about the science fiction.  It's very political, but if for some reason you disagree with the political message it's sending out, no worries.  Just focus on the amazing visuals and great acting and you'll be happy.  I don't quite understand people getting depressed after seeing the movie, as the news has said, but I do understand realizing that there could easily be something far more amazing than our world out there.  Or that our world was great but, to an extent, we have killed it.  Anywho, yeah, I enjoyed it.

By the way, today I saw a spider, and I killed it without freaking out, like normal.  Then I saw another spider later and I thought, You know what, maybe I should let it be.  That spider is probably eating all the other unpleasant bugs that I don't like.  So the spider's life was spared.  More progress?

  1. I will have to see avatar, everyone is raving.

I'd rather have fly than a spider.

  2. Adored Avatar/hates spiders. You sound like a kindred spirit. LOL That movie became, instantly, my favorite movie of all time. I MUST buy the soundtrack; the score was amazing, too! Nice blog! Will follow!

  4. Otin--we sometimes have annoying bugs like earwigs which like to bite us, and spiders usually leave us alone, so yeah. We never have normal things like flies. And if we do my cat's good at hunting them.

Sunny--I used to hate spiders. Now I just really dislike them. ;)

Candice--No no, see, I'm becoming LESS of a pussy! In the past the only time a spider lived was because I was too scared to get close enough to it to kill it.

  6. I agree about Avatar. I'm telling people to see it regardless if it's not "their kind of movie". I hope you get a chance to see it in 3D...it was quite surreal and remarkable!!

  7. Saw it 3 times, 2d once and 3D twice, ahh the 3D is breathtaking but doesn't that movie remind you of dancing of the wolves?

  8. I liked Avatar, but I hate spiders, so I guess I'm not one with Mother Earth like I should be, according to James Cameron, anyway. Spiders are just so sneaky and creepy, and some of them are poisonous, too. Why, I have to wonder, are there creatures like spiders on this planet?
